A unique creative space our Lake Lodge is nestled within woodland overlooking a picturesque lake in the beautiful countryside of north Kerry, the gateway to the Kingdom. This cozy self contained Lodge is a stand alone property in complete privacy away from the main family home.
This was a working farm for many generations of the Carr families. The first-born son always take the name Timothy or in Irish (Tadhg) who carried on the farming tradition for well over 100 years. The current Timothy has planted the farm in forestry and has a keen interest in the preservation of our environment and wildlife.
The Lodge caters for couples or creative individuals who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and enjoy nature at its finest. A divider separates the sleeping area from the main living space, this comprises of a cozy double bed overlooking the lake that offers the best views in the morning.
The living area consists of different seated areas, reading area, TV station, writing or dining area, something to suite everyone. Kitchen area includes all necessary equipment to cater for your stay. The bathroom is made up of a shower, sink and Eco friendly toilet.
To the front of the lake is a patio area perfect for those sunny days to enjoy lunch or those chilly night where you can cozy up and enjoy all the sounds mother nature brings with it. You can also enjoy walks around the woodland at your leisure.
As this property is located on the Wild Atlantic Way route you are spoilt for choice for there are many wonderful beaches, most famous are the blue flag beaches of Ballybunion and if you drive north west out of Ballybunion you will find some wonderful gems like Bromore cliff walks the beaches of Beal and Littor. Further along in Ballylongford you can visit the ruins of Carrigafoyle castle that was built in the 15th century and was owned by the O’Connor family.
